Allergy Testing and Treatment

Environmental Allergy Test

The staff at World’s Famous Dermatologist can also use a topical application of extract oil to screen for risk factors related to Georgia’s environment. We test for over 72 antigens including pets, dust, plants , trees , grasses, infectious organisms, dietary food groups, and environmental insects. The nice part is that after we discover which environments risks are related to or contributing to your skin disease, we can work toward desensitizing the patient to certain allergies with immunotherapy, promoting fewer challenges with abnormal skin and better control. Environmental, dust, pollen, and other seasonal allergies can wreak havoc on your sinuses. These allergies can instigate headaches, sneezing, itchy watery eyes, itchy skin, wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. If you are tired of the side affects of allergies, let World Famous Dermatologist, Dr. David Bryant, help by performing allergy testing Johns Creek, Marietta, Stockbridge & Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Types of Allergy Testing

World Famous Dermatologist wants you to have a quality life. It is hard to do so when you are constantly dealing with allergies. We can do allergy testing and find out exactly what your particular irritants are and then determine the right course of treatment to have you feeling better in no time at all. Types of allergy testing we do are:
  • Scratch or prick allergy test – Dr. Bryant will either scratch or prick the skin and then apply a small amount of whatever allergen we are testing. If you have an allergy, you will immediately develop a rash, redness, swelling and/or itching in that area.
  • Intradermal allergy test – In this test, a small amount of the suspected allergen will be injected under the skin and an allergic reaction on the surface of the skin will appear if you are allergic.
    • Special air conditioning filters
    • Install all wood floors instead of carpet
    • Use a HEPA filter in your vacuum and vacuum very frequently
    • Purchase ‘mite proof’ pillowcases and wash linens often
    • You can also buy an air cleaner and dehumidifier to use in the bedroom, keep pets out of the bedroom
    • Spray for roaches regularly, keep food stored in air tight containers and take out the trash daily

Treatments for Allergies

While there are lots of allergy medications available, there are also a plethora of side affects that come with them. We prefer to use other means if possible to treat your allergies. Other available treatments include allergy therapy, oral tablets, and shots. There may also be some physical changes for dust allergies you can make to your surroundings. This would include:
